Regional Bargaining Report # 23

The IBEW New England and CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 Regional Committees met with the company today at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, NY. With just 2 days before contract expiration, the company has yet to withdraw any of their retrogressive proposals. The discussions today centered on health care with the company supplying some of the information the union has requested. Further discussions are scheduled for tomorrow morning.
The Company needs to get serious and begin bargaining with your Union. We need every member to tell their manager that Verizon needs to bargain with their Union now.
We would like to thank everyone from Local 2325 and the T-6 locals who took the time to rally for Working Families this evening in Boston. It was another incredible show of support and strength for the membership and the Bargaining Committee. Your voices were heard and your passion to fight for your job was overwhelming. You have once again shown that you are ready and you are one.
Verizon seems hell-bent on destroying the middle class jobs IBEW and CWA have fought so hard to create over the last 50 years of collective bargaining.
It is time that Verizon invests in America and brings Good Jobs back into the bargaining unit. Corporations like Verizon should not be destroying middle class jobs. They should be helping to rebuild the American economy and sharing their success with the workforce that made that possible.
It’s time to fight back!
