The IBEW New England and CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 Regional Committees reconvened today to resume talks with the entire committee meeting with the company at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, NY.  The last few days were spent in discussions at high levels of the Union and the Company.  The decision to bring back the committees was made because we received a commitment from the Company that they will get serious. The Regional Committees received a new proposal from Verizon that contained almost all of their retrogressive demands from the first proposal. The only item removed was the proposal that attached wage increases to job performance.

 

The Regional Committees are reviewing the latest proposal and they will be putting together counter proposals to see if the company is serious about their commitment to bargain.
