Regional Bargaining Report # 31
Friday, August 12, 2011 Midnight
The IBEW New England and CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 Regional Committees met with the Company today at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, NY. Your union committee met for several hours and after lengthy discussions with the Company there was some slight movement at the table. The Union presented a detailed proposal covering several issues and is waiting the Company’s response.
There was a vigil held at Chairman Ivan Seidenberg’s home tonight. Approximately, 3,100 members and their families attended. We’ve brought our fight to Ivan’s neighbors and tonight they heard us loud and clear.
We need to keep up the fight in every way possible. Share the facts of our struggle with family and friends wherever and whenever you can. More and more unions, elected officials and community organizations are joining our fight against Verizon to save the Middle Class. We will not allow Verizon to destroy our union, our standard of living or the middle class.
It’s time to fight back!
