Regional Bargaining Report # 57

The IBEW New England and CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 Regional Committees and the CWA District 2-13/ IBEW Mid Atlantic Regional Committees returned to the bargaining table Tuesday January 3rd. After weeks of “off the record” sub-committee meetings, the bargaining teams began meeting on the record in full committee. Although some meetings were not productive, others provided useful information.
The bargaining teams began 2012 with a counter proposal on Call Sharing. The data and information gathered by the Union these past few weeks, allowed the bargaining teams to make an informed counter proposal. This proposal protects the security of current jobs and brings new work to the bargaining units. The company received our proposal and will respond shortly.
The IBEW/CWA will return to Rye again on Friday the 6th and continue bargaining the following week. We have been at the table for over 28 weeks now and not much has changed. We will remain at the table for 28 more weeks if necessary. We will continue to fight until a fair agreement is reached. One that protects this membership now and in the future.
