The IBEW New England and CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 Regional Committees returned to the bargaining table this week at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, NY. The Bargaining Team passed an aggressive comprehensive proposal looking to get the momentum moving in these negotiations. As you can expect, this greedy corporation responded to our proposal with very little movement.
We are beginning our eleventh month of negotiations in Rye N.Y. This company has shown no sense of urgency or willingness to reach an agreement. They are hell bent on pushing their retrogressive demands on this membership. Your Bargaining Team has taken major steps to working towards an agreement and the Company has taken very small steps. It is clear that this painstaking process will continue. There is no light at the end of this tunnel.
The Regional Bargaining Team for the IBEW/CWA will remain at this table for as long as it takes. They will not outlast us and we will not leave NY without a fair agreement that guarantees us a future.
Continue Mobilization activities. If you do not have mobilization activities, call the office. Meet outside work locations and informational picket. Let the public know that you still do not have a contract and Verizon wants to destroy middle class families. If you need informational picket signs, call the office. Participate in your own survival and stay united.
