The IBEW New England and CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 Regional Committees remained at the bargaining table this week at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, NY. The Bargaining Team worked on and passed aggressive proposals in areas such as absence, call-sharing, job security, movement of work and job growth. The company continues to fight us on these issues as well as many more. When we receive counter proposals, their movement is very slight. Many items remain on the table and the bargaining team will continue to work on getting them removed one by one.

We have received more documentation from our research departments in Washington that will assist in our counter proposal on healthcare. More work will be done in designing healthcare plans that will provide acceptable coverage for all members regardless of geography. This data will allow us to cost out these plans and fine tune our proposal.

Bargaining will continue and we will remain at the table fighting these retrogressive demands until we work out an acceptable agreement for all of our members. This fight is far from over and the company continues to push its agenda. That is unacceptable and we will fight to protect our future.
