NEW ENGLAND WORK and FAMILY COMMITTEE
The New England Work and Family Committee is a joint committee comprised of Union and Company representatives. The function of this committee is to create programs to assist members and employees with health and life issues. The funds that sustain this committee are obtained through contract negotiations with each Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The committee meets monthly to approve the acceptance and payment to members for a variety of programs. These programs change frequently and the committee works to introduce new programs to try and cover a wide spectrum of the membership. Some existing programs such as, dependent care reimbursement and summer camp reimbursement are constant staples provided every year. In the past we have offered tutoring, healthcare books, health fairs and lifeline assistance. These types of programs will be for a short time period and our goal is to cover many life issues no matter what age group.
The committee has two full time staff members that oversee the daily functions and day to day operations of these programs. These two staff members are comprised of one Union representative and one Company representative. We are fortunate to have their office located here in Local 2325. They are on the third floor at 15 Chestnut St. in Worcester. We are also fortunate to have the Business Manager of this Local, David Keating as a voting member of the Work and Family Committee. This enables this Local to have first hand knowledge of existing programs and potential new programs.
The New England Work and Family Committee is an excellent bargained for benefit that specializes in assisting in everyday life situations. We highly recommend that you follow the link below to the Work and Family website and take full advantage of everything the committee has to offer.
